Transition to IPv6
Finding Common Ground
17-19 November 2008, Canberra ACT
The Summit is over, and everyone agreed it was the most exciting and thought-provoking yet! No more talk about if IPv6 will happen: this was real world stuff - how and why transition is taking place now, with even a look at some innovative products possible only through IPv6.
The presentations are available here in pdf format
Welcome, IPv4 user - what stage of transition have you reached?

The 2005 Summit explored global IPv6 preparation ... The 2006 Summit discussed the IPv6 business case ... The 2007 Summit examined IPv6 at work ... Now move on in 2008!
It's hard to bid farewell to an old friend like IPv4, but it's no longer a case of IF or WHEN ... we're already at HOW when Google starts offering an IPv6-enabled site. But right now we're all stuck on scattered islands of IPv6: we need to find our common ground.
This Summit will look at recent IPv6 transitions - and how users, government, vendors and service providers can work together on planning and implementation strategies.
Internet Protocol Version 6 offers enhanced mobility, simpler management, built-in security and almost unlimited Internet addresses for next-generation devices. The IPv6 Summit offers two days of international and Australian experts, plus an optional one-day IPv6 Deployment Workshop to provide a hands-on guide to implementation.
